Agee Memorial Wildlife Fund, Inc., (Agee) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to ending animal suffering by rescuing homeless animals, providing them with a safe haven, addressing their nutrition and medical needs, and especially finding them loving lifelong homes they deserve.
Every animal we rescue receives sanctuary at our rescue facility, veterinary exam(s), ongoing veterinary care, vaccines, spaying, neutering, micro chipping, and any other medical aid that the rescued animal may need. We are committed to help end animal over population and communicable diseases by saving as many homeless animals as our finances will allow and educating the public regarding responsible animal care.
Please help Agee continue to help animals in need by donating today, volunteering, working in the community to promote humane preventative animal care (spay, neuter, vaccines.)
Sanctuary Fencing Goal
Great news!: Kelly Montgomery has offered to match up to $3000 to help us raise the funds for the sanctuary fencing! Also, if anyone would like to team up to donate the funds for a 10 foot section, please let us know.
Dear Friends,
Help us raise money to purchase fencing to enclose the Agee sanctuary to 1/3 of an acre. Our shelter is growingl We need more fencing to provide our cats with a place to safely roam. The fencing will keep the predators out and keep the kitties in!
A 10 foot section of fencing costs $264.00. The estimate is based on 500 feet (1/3-1/2 acre or 20,000 square feet). We need 55 donors to purchase one section each. Every 10 foot section purchased will have a plaque displaying the donor's name. All donations are tax deductible!
One of the ways you can donate is through Paypal; it's easy and convenient. Also, we will gladly accept checks (our address is listed on the donations page.)
Thank you so much for your help!
Katherine Hepburn came to us on June 6, 2008. She was found on the streets in Cameron Park. Only because of her siblings are we able to determine that she was about 8-10 weeks when she came to us, however, she still remains a pound and a half. Her condition is very similar to our kitten Eleanor's in that she shakes when she eats, walks, etc., (receives stimulation) however, she is completely self sufficient and litter box trained.
We checked with Dr. Sellars, our vet, and she had this to say about Katherine Hepburn: Katherine has Cerebellar Hypoplasia, which means that the cerebellum of her brain did not completely form as a fetus. The cerebellum is the part of the brain which controls the muscle and motor abilities of the animal. She will not get better, but just as likely, may not get worse either. Dr. Sellars doesn't feel her affliction will necessarily shorten her life as long as she is an indoor kitty.
Katherine Hepburn has begun to have daily seizures. She will begin a medication on Monday (August 4, 2008) that we hope will stop the seizures. Please consider donating for her care.
